Real Madrid are reportedly worried Chelsea could offer Thibaut Courtois a new deal that would take him beyond the 100,000-a-week wages he currently earns at Stamford Bridge.
The La Liga giants are said to have reignited their interest in Courtois and are targeting a summer move for the goalkeeper with their transfer ban set to be lifted in the 2017 window.
Chelsea will not want to part with their star stopper having backed Courtois in the summer by binning their goalkeeping coach in the summer.

Christophe Lollichon was shown the door by Chelsea as they brought in Antonio Conte’s goalkeeping man, Gianluca Spinelli, to help Courtois rediscover his form.
Courtois and the rest of the Chelsea squad endured a difficult campaign last season, but the Belgium has seen his game greatly improve with the Blues currently on a 12-game win streak.
And the Telegraph claim the Blues will have another fight on their hands to keep Courtois happy with Real ready to make an offer.
Chelsea quoted Real £73 million when they came knocking for Courtois’ services in 2015 and are eager to tie the 24-year-old down to a fresh contract in 2017.
Courtois is on £100,000-a-week but could be offered upwards of a £50,000 increase with Real considered serious suitors.
Chelsea have turned their year around after a dreadful defence of their Premier League title last season and are currently top of the table.
