San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde suffered a serious MCL injury in Saturday's game and will miss the last contest of the season, according to multiple reports.
A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Hyde tore his MCL. He will miss Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The 26-year-old Hyde was injured in the fourth quarter when he was hit on his left leg during the 22-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He walked off the field under his own power but did not return to the game.
"It didn't feel that bad when it first happened," Hyde said after the game. "It's pain, there's some pain, but it didn't feel like bad pain. I've felt worse. That's why I was able to get up and walk off on my own."
Hyde rushed for 38 yards on 13 carries before departing the game. He also caught three passes for 24 yards, including a 19-yard scoring pass from Colin Kaepernick in the first quarter.
Hyde finished the season with career highs of 988 yards rushing and six touchdowns in 13 games.
