Cesc Fabregas has admitted his lack of playing time at Chelsea is making him sad.
The Spain midfielder has started just five Premier League games this season, but despite that he’s registered the joint most assists at Chelsea this season.
His latest came during Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Hull when just 10 minutes after coming on his free-kick was headed in by Gary Cahill.
Fabregas said ‘that was nice’ to take his assist tally to six, but he hopes it will prove to Chelsea manager Antonio Conte that he should be involved more.
‘I play football to win and enjoy. When I don’t play I’m sad and I don’t enjoy it but I’m happy the team is doing well. Football is my life, it’s everything to me. Every time I’m on the pitch I try to do my best. In this game it went well again so I just need to keep going and show the manager I deserve to play.’
Not only did Fabregas’ latest assist see him top that particular chart at Chelsea, it also stood him out as the best creator in Europe this season.

Chelsea’s victory over the Hull took them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League. Fabregas highlighted the importance of the result with tough games against Liverpool and his former side Arsenal next up.
‘It was a very tough game, we knew it would be from the beginning,’ he told ‘We prepared very well for it and it paid off. In the Premier League there are no easy games but we must be pleased with the result because it was three points we really wanted.
‘After this weekend, when there were some unexpected results, we knew it was a must-win to go into two difficult games with the advantage we wanted.’
