Come Dine With Me removes a contestant mid-show for the first time ever

Duncan Lindsay
Come Dine With Me viewers have been left baffled and wanting answers after a contestant was removed from the show midway through without any real explanation in an unprecedented move for the long running hit programme.
In the past, viewers have stormed out before and had some serious meltdowns – who can forget this moment from just over a year ago, for example? – but this is believed to be the first occasion on which a player is suddenly taken out of the mix and not allowed to continue.
Rory took part in two nights of the Central Scotland edition of the show, including his own evening, but after the night at his home (which appeared to rub fellow diners up the wrong way and prompted them to score him very lowly), commentator Dave Lamb told fans watching that Rory had been removed from the competition due to an incident after the show’s events and would not be returning.

No other detail was given and viewers are desperately trying to get to the bottom of it – with one even submitting a Freedom Of Information request!
During his evening, Rory engaged in a bizarre and fierce row with a fellow diner over which member of Take That was more talented, with Rory angrily fighting Gary Barlow’s corner. The row got so heated that a bemused third guest had to step in and ask the men to calm down.
Metro.co.uk have reached out to Channel 4 for comment and they simply told us: ‘After incidents that happened away from the dinner party, Rory was removed from the competition’.
